Welcome back.
Dashboard Overview
Document Vault
Everything on your file, in one place. The four cards say what is waiting on you; press one to go straight to it. Documents holds your Engagement Agreement, what Naomi still needs from you, and everything on your record. Forms holds what there is to fill in and send. Analysis holds what Naomi has written about a document.
Needs your action
What Naomi is waiting on from you. Each item has a button to deal with it, and it leaves this list once it is done.
Still needed
Documents your attorney is waiting on. Press Upload next to one and choose the file.
Everything on your record, newest first, with what Naomi has sent you to read at the top. Narrow the list with the chips, or search by name or date. When Naomi has sorted your documents into folders, they appear in those folders. Every row opens with View. To review is something Naomi sent for you to read. For your records is simply on the file, with nothing to do about it.
Upload documents
Select document type and upload your files. Photos, PDFs, Word docs up to 25 MB. Encrypted immediately.
Your forms
Forms that save automatically as you type. Pick up where you left off anytime.
A copy of every form exactly as you sent it, each one opening with View. Sending a form again files a new copy and leaves the earlier one here, so nothing you have told Naomi is ever overwritten. Anything Naomi has written about one of them is under Analysis.
Naomi's reading of a document on your file, kept here rather than in your messages so it is never scrolled past. Each document opens with View, and the analysis underneath it opens with View the analysis, where any redlines and comments she marked on the document are set out in full.
Messages
Direct communication with your attorney. Everything here is confidential.
Message thread
Billing
Track invoices, payment history, and manage your account.
Outstanding invoices
Payment due seven days from invoice date.
Unbilled time
Work in progress that hasn't been invoiced yet.
Payment history
Important dates
Calendar events for your matter.
Your Engagement Agreement
Where your Engagement Agreement stands. Read and sign it on the Documents tab of your Document Vault.
About Your Portal
What each part of your portal does, how to do the things you will be asked to do, and answers to the questions clients ask most.
Welcome to Your Client Portal
This portal is the one place for everything about your matter. Here you can see where things stand, send and receive documents, fill in the forms Naomi sends you, read her analysis of documents on your file, message her directly, book meetings, and view and pay your invoices. Whenever something new needs you, it appears under What Needs Your Attention on your dashboard, and you are emailed a notice with a button that brings you straight to it.
Getting Around
The menu on the left lists every section of your portal. On a phone or tablet, tap the Menu button at the top to open it.
- My Representation Dashboard - Where you land when you sign in. Days until your next deadline, messages waiting for you, what needs your attention, the current status and timeline of your matter, and the buttons to print a summary or share your file.
- Direct Messages - Your confidential thread with Naomi. Send a message, reply to one of hers, or ask her to call you.
- Document Vault - Three tabs. Documents holds your Engagement Agreement, what is still needed from you, your to-do list, and everything on your record, in the folders Naomi has made. Forms holds the questionnaires to fill in and a copy of every one you have sent. Analysis holds what Naomi has written about a document on your file, including any redlines and comments.
- Representation & Brand Deals - Shown only when your matter is athlete representation. Your representation agreement, the brands being pitched on your behalf, your brand deals, and, for college athletes, the NCAA bylaws that apply to you.
- Book a Meeting - Schedule a regular meeting about your current representation, or a consultation on a new matter, on Naomi's calendar.
- Billing - Amount due, outstanding invoices with a Pay button, unbilled time, payment history, important dates, and the status of your client agreement.
- What's New | Updated Laws | News | Resources - Posts from Naomi with news, legal updates and resources relevant to your matter, searchable and filterable by tag.
- About Your Portal - This page.
If you have more than one matter with the firm, a Your matters list appears at the top of the menu. Tap a matter to switch to it. The same list also appears at the bottom of your dashboard under Your matters with this firm.
At the top right of every page you will find the bell (your notifications), the gear (your settings), your name, and the Sign out button.
Signing In and Your Account
- First visit - Your account was created from Naomi's invitation and has no password yet. On the sign-in page, type your email address, then click First time here? Create your password. Check your email, open the link, and choose a password of at least 8 characters. You are taken straight into your file.
- Forgot your password - Type your email address on the sign-in page and click Forgot your password?. The link in the email opens the page where you set a new one.
- Remember me on this device - Keeps your email address filled in for next time. Your password is never stored by the portal itself; if your browser offers to save it, that is your browser's own secure store. Leave this off on a shared or public computer.
- Automatic sign-out - After two hours with no activity you are signed out to protect your file. Sign in again to continue where you left off.
- Your settings - Click the gear at the top right to update your name, telephone number and postal address, change the email address you sign in with (a confirmation link goes to the new address and the change takes effect once you open it), or change your password.
- Signing out - Click Sign out next to your name at the top right. Always sign out on a shared computer.
Your Dashboard
- Days Until Deadline and Messages Waiting - The two cards at the top show your next important date and how many unread messages you have from Naomi.
- What Needs Your Attention - Every open item in one list: forms to complete, documents to upload, agreements to accept, things to do, unread messages, new documents and analyses from Naomi, and invoices. Each has a View button that takes you directly to it. When there is nothing outstanding, the list says so.
- Current Status and Timeline of events - Your forms with their status, and the stages of your matter with the current one marked.
- Call times from Naomi - When you have asked for a call and Naomi has offered times, they appear here. Confirm the number she should call and press This one works next to the time you want.
- Print Summary - Opens a printable one-page summary of where things stand, your forms, what is still needed, and your dates.
- Share my file with someone - Lets a spouse, family member or other trusted person see parts of your file. See Sharing Your File below.
How To: Direct Messages
- Send a message - Open Direct Messages, click Send message to attorney, write in the box and press Send message. Naomi is notified by email as soon as it is sent.
- Reply to a specific message - Press Reply to attorney under any message. A bar above the box shows which message you are answering. Press the × on that bar if you change your mind.
- Ask for a call - Click Ask for a call, type a line about what you would like to discuss, and say whether it is urgent. Naomi will offer times, which appear on your dashboard for you to choose from. Once you pick one, your call is booked and the time is shown on your dashboard.
- Unread messages - New messages from Naomi are counted on the menu and on your dashboard. Opening Direct Messages marks them as read. You are also emailed whenever Naomi writes to you.
How To: Document Vault
Documents tab
- Send a document Naomi has asked for - Under Needs your action, in the Still needed list, press Upload next to the item and choose the file. The item changes to Received, Naomi is notified, and you receive an email receipt. If Naomi decides a document does not apply to your matter, she marks it not applicable and it leaves the list.
- Upload anything else - Under Upload documents, pick a document type (General, Contracts, Scholarship or Important), then drop files onto the box or tap it to choose them. Photos, PDFs, Word and other office files up to 25 MB each are accepted. Programs and scripts are refused. Files are encrypted the moment they land.
- Your Engagement Agreement - When Naomi sends your Engagement Agreement, it appears at the top of the Documents tab. Press Read it to open it, or Read and sign to read it and sign it in the portal: type your first name and your last name, sign in the box, and press Sign. Your name, signature, and the date and time are recorded on the agreement, and a signed copy is filed in your documents. If an amount is due on signing, a separate payment receipt is filed beside it once you have paid.
- Things to do - Small tasks Naomi has asked of you, each with a due date. Tap the box next to one when it is done, and Naomi is told.
- Documents in your vault - Everything you have uploaded and everything Naomi has added. To review is something she has sent for you to read or sign. For your records is simply on the file. Use the filter chips to show one kind, and View to open any document. Naomi can see when you have opened a document she sent, so there is no need to message her to confirm.
Forms tab
- Fill in a form - Press Start, or Keep going if you have begun. Your answers save automatically as you type, so you can close the form and come back any time. When you are done, press Send my answers to Naomi.
- After sending - The form is marked Completed and closes, so it is a record of exactly what you told the firm. Press View to read it. A copy also lands in the Forms in your vault list below.
- Change an answer on a sent form - Press Request to edit next to the form and say what needs changing. Naomi reviews the request. If she approves, the form shows Open for editing with an Edit link; sending it again closes it and files a new copy without overwriting the earlier one. If she leaves it closed, her note appears next to the form.
- Filters - Use All, In progress and Completed to narrow the list.
Analysis tab
- What it is - When Naomi reviews a document on your file and writes about it, her analysis lands here, under the document it is about, and you are emailed. It never arrives in your message thread, so it cannot be scrolled past.
- Reading it - Press View to open the document and View the analysis to read what Naomi wrote. Any redlines and comments she marked on the document are set out in full.
- The marked-up document - Redlines open on the document itself, with Naomi's changes shown where they sit. You can zoom, hide or show the tracked changes, open it in a new tab, and print the redlined copy or the tracked-changes copy.
- Ask about a mark - Press Ask Naomi about this redline while reading to send her a question about what she has marked, without leaving the document.
How To: Book a Meeting
- Choose the meeting type first - Regular Meetings Regarding Current Representation is for an existing matter and carries no charge. Consultation on a new matter is for something new and carries the consultation fee shown on the calendar.
- Book on Naomi's Calendar - The button opens her calendar in a new tab. Pick a date and time and confirm. You receive a confirmation email and calendar reminders before the meeting.
- After booking - A regular meeting is added to your matter and appears under Important dates in Billing. If a consultation was booked without paying, a Meeting fee due box appears on the Book a Meeting page with a Pay button to settle it.
How To: Billing
- At a glance - The cards show your total amount due, total billed, and your last payment. An Overdue badge appears if an invoice is past its due date.
- Outstanding invoices - Each invoice shows its number, due date and balance. View opens the itemized invoice. Pay opens a secure card checkout; when the payment goes through you are returned to the portal, the invoice is marked paid, and you receive a receipt by email. Payment is due seven days from the invoice date.
- If card payment is not available - The portal will tell you. Use the payment method set out in your Legal Services or Representation Agreement, or message Naomi and she will send instructions.
- Unbilled time - Work Naomi has recorded on your matter that has not yet been invoiced, so nothing on a future invoice is a surprise.
- Payment history, Important dates and Client agreement - Every payment recorded on your matter, the dates on your calendar, and whether your engagement letter and fee agreement have been accepted.
- Emails - You are emailed when an invoice is issued, reminded before it is due and again if it becomes overdue, and sent a receipt when you pay.
How To: What's New | Updated Laws | News | Resources
- The wall of posts - Naomi's posts for clients with your kind of matter, newest first. Click a post's title or picture to open it. A post with a picture opens full size, with the words and files one click further in.
- Narrow the wall - Click a tag above the posts to show only posts with that tag; click it again to clear. Type in the search box to find posts by title, words, tag or attached file name. The count shows how many posts match.
- Files - Documents attached to a post are listed inside it and open with a click.
- Relevant law changes - Below the posts, news and legal developments Naomi has flagged as relevant to your matter.
- Emails - When Naomi publishes a new post for your matter type, you are emailed with a button that opens the wall.
How To: Representation & Brand Deals (Athletes)
This section appears only when your matter is athlete representation.
- Your representation agreement - Open it from its file name to read it in full. If it is marked Needs your signature, type your full legal name in the box and press Sign it. Your typed name and the date are recorded on your file, and Naomi is told. Message her before signing if anything is unclear.
- Brands you are being pitched to - Each brand Naomi has approached for you, with where the conversation stands. A pitch is not a deal; nothing binds you until you have an agreement in front of you and have signed it.
- Your brand deals - Agreements you have with brands, with start and end dates, value and terms.
- Reporting your deals - Every deal worth $600 or more and whether it has been reported yet, with the days left. Tap I reported it once you have, and Naomi is told.
- What you owe each brand - The deliverables on each deal, with what is due next. Tick one off when it is done.
- What a deal is worth to you - Pick a deal or type an amount, choose your state, and see an estimate of what reaches you after fees and tax, and how much to set aside. An estimate for planning, not tax advice.
- Where you are playing - Whether your file is set to high school, college or professional. Tell Naomi if this is wrong, because it changes which rules you are held to.
- NCAA bylaws - Shown for college athletes only. Dated summaries with article numbers and links to the official manual, which is the rule itself. Rules change mid-year, so check with Naomi before relying on any of this.
Sharing Your File
- Give someone access - On your dashboard, press Share my file with someone. Enter their name, email address and relationship to you, choose They can read only or They can read and upload documents, and press Give them access. They sign in with that email address.
- What they can see - Your documents, what is still needed, and your dates. They cannot see your form answers, your messages with Naomi, or your invoices.
- Before you share - Sharing means your communications with Naomi are no longer private as to that person. The firm is notified whenever you share.
- Stop sharing - Press Stop sharing next to their name. Their access ends immediately.
Notifications and Emails
- The bell - At the top right. It lists new forms sent or reopened for you, decisions on your edit requests, links Naomi has sent, invoices, new things to do, dates added to your calendar, and agreements ready for you. Click an item to go to it, or Mark all read.
- Choosing how you are told - Click the gear at the top right, or Settings on the bell, and find Notifications. For each kind of event, messages, documents, forms, billing, calendar, things to do, agreements and receipts, tick whether you want an email, a text to the telephone number in your details, or only a note here in the portal. Press Save my notification choices. What needs your attention stays on your dashboard whatever you choose.
- Emails from the firm - Every email about your matter comes from NaomiJLegal, PLLC and carries a button that opens the portal at the thing the email is about. If several items are waiting, it opens your dashboard so you can choose.
- Reminders - You are reminded about forms left unfinished, invoices coming due or overdue, dates a week out and the day before, and things to do that are due or late.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I submit a document Naomi has asked for?
Open Document Vault from the left menu. On the Documents tab, the Still needed list shows each document Naomi is waiting on with an Upload button beside it. Press Upload, choose the file, and the item changes to Received. You can also reach the right item by pressing View next to it under What Needs Your Attention on your dashboard.
How will I know my document was received?
The item shows Received as soon as the upload finishes, the file appears in your vault, and you are emailed a receipt. Naomi is notified at the same time. If she needs anything further, she will write to you in Direct Messages.
I already sent a form. Can I change an answer?
Yes. A sent form closes so it stays a record of what you told the firm, but on the Forms tab press Request to edit beside it and say what needs changing. Once Naomi approves, the form reads Open for editing and you can fix it and send it again. Both copies are kept.
Do I have to finish a form in one sitting?
No. Every answer saves automatically as you type, and the form shows how many questions you have answered. Close it whenever you like and press Keep going to return.
How can I contact my attorney?
Use Direct Messages. Press Send message to attorney to write to Naomi, or Ask for a call and she will offer times for a phone call, which you choose from your dashboard. Every message is confidential and Naomi is emailed when you write.
Where do I find Naomi's analysis of my document?
On the Analysis tab of the Document Vault, under the document it is about. Press View the analysis to read it, including any redlines and comments marked on the document. You are emailed when a new analysis lands, and the email button opens that tab.
What should I do if I forget my password, or never set one?
On the sign-in page, type your email address first. Then click Forgot your password?, or First time here? Create your password if you have never set one. Either way an email arrives with a link to the page where you choose a password of at least 8 characters.
How do I change my email address, phone number or password?
Click the gear at the top right. You can update your name, telephone number and postal address, change your sign-in email (a confirmation link goes to the new address), and set a new password.
How do I pay my invoice?
Go to Billing. Under Outstanding invoices, press View to see the itemized invoice or Pay to open a secure card checkout. When the payment completes, the invoice is marked paid and you receive a receipt by email. If card payment is not available, use the method in your agreement or message Naomi for instructions.
What is the difference between the two meeting types?
Regular Meetings Regarding Current Representation is for a matter Naomi is already handling for you and has no charge. Consultation on a new matter is for something new and carries the consultation fee shown on the calendar. Choose the type first, then press Book on Naomi's Calendar.
I have more than one matter with the firm. How do I switch between them?
A Your matters list appears at the top of the left menu whenever you have more than one. Tap a matter to open it; every section then shows that matter's documents, messages and invoices. The list is also at the bottom of your dashboard.
Can a family member or someone I trust see my file?
Yes. On your dashboard press Share my file with someone and enter their details. They will see your documents, what is still needed, and your dates, but not your form answers, your messages with Naomi, or your invoices. You can stop sharing at any time. Bear in mind that sharing means your communications are no longer private as to that person.
Why was I signed out?
The portal signs you out after two hours without activity to protect your file. Simply sign in again. Your work on any form was saved as you typed.
Is my information secure?
Yes. Your account was created from an invitation and reaches one file only: yours. Uploaded documents are encrypted the moment they land, your messages with Naomi are confidential and protected by the attorney client privilege, and card payments are handled by a secure payment processor rather than stored in the portal. Your login is unique to you, so please do not share it with anyone.
Can I use the portal on my phone?
Yes. The portal works in any modern browser on a phone or tablet. Tap the Menu button at the top to open the sections, and use your camera roll to upload photos of documents.
What if I have a question not answered here?
Send Naomi a message in Direct Messages, or contact the office directly. We are here to make sure you have the information and support you need throughout your matter.
Need Help?
If anything in the portal is unclear or not working as described here, send Naomi a message in Direct Messages or contact the office. Please include what you were trying to do and what you saw, so it can be put right quickly.
Security & Privacy
Your portal account opens your matter and nothing else. Documents are encrypted on upload, your messages are confidential and protected by the attorney client privilege, and you are signed out automatically after two hours of inactivity. Please do not share your login details with anyone. If you want someone else to see your file, use Share my file with someone so their access is recorded and can be withdrawn. Contact the office immediately if you notice any activity on your account that you do not recognize.

Representation & Brand Deals
Your representation agreement, the brands we are talking to on your behalf, and the rules that apply to you.
Your representation agreement
Brands you are being pitched to
Where each conversation stands right now. A pitch here is not a deal; nothing binds you until you have an agreement in front of you and have signed it.
Your brand deals
Active agreements you have with brands, including start dates, end dates, and deal terms.
What a deal is worth to you
A brand pays the gross figure. Nothing is held back for tax, and the agent and any platform take their share first, so the number to plan around is what is left. Pick one of your deals or type an amount.
